The National Working Committee (NWC) of All Progressives Congress (APC) has resolved that the Edo State Governorship Primary Election has not been completed.

In a press statement issued by Felix Morka, Esq. National Publicity Secretary of the party, after emergency meeting of NWC held Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to consider the report on the Edo State Governorship Primary Election, and made available to newsmen stated that Thursday February 22, 2024 has been fixed for the completion of the Primary Election Process.

The statement reads: “EDO STATE APC GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARY ELECTION NOT COMPLETED

“At its emergency meeting held today, Tuesday, February 20, 2024, to consider the report on the Edo State Governorship Primary Election, the National Working Committee (NWC) deliberated on the report and resolved that the Edo State Governorship Primary Election has not been completed, and has now fixed Thursday February 22, 2024 for the completion of the Primary Election Process.

Recall the highly controversial APC primary had produced three different governorship flag bearers.

While Senator Monday Okpebholo, who represents Edo Central Senatorial District, was declared winner by Stanley Ugboaja, the State Returning Officer for the election, Dennues Idahosa, member representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives was declared winner by Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma, the Chairman of the APC Primary Election Committee.

Elsewhere, Sunday Anamero Dekeri, who represents Etsako Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, was adjudged to have won by Ojo Babatunde, spokesman for the local government returning officers.
