Atu while outlining his achievements thus far, said his constituency witnessed a year of unprecedented development under his leadership as member representing Orhionmwon East constituency 1.

He took this stand while speaking with journalists in his office in Benin City, on his performance and future plan during the occasion of the one-year celebration anniversary of the 8th Assembly.

He noted that the 8th Assembly has just completed one year in office. He gave thanks to God Almighty for giving him the power and strength to get to this stage so far. He expressed gratitude to the people of his constituency for their support on the journey within this one year under review.

The lawmaker said his tenure has been marked by significant contributions to the people of his constituency, not just his constituency, but Edo State as a whole.

“As of today, I have impacted my people positively. Since I assumed office, I have moved several motions on the floor of the House. I have contributed to the economic development of the state, not just my constituency,” he stated.

According to him his efforts have translated into tangible projects and initiatives, directly benefiting the people, adding that one of the key areas of his focus in the House has been education.

“I have given several scholarships to students at premier universities in Edo State. I have touched the lives of children in primary and secondary schools in my constituency and outside my constituency. In my own community, I have done some projects as of today and some are still ongoing.

“I have given scholarships to many students, these scholarships totaling over one hundred, I have supported students across various institutions including Igbinedion University and Benson Idahosa University”, he added.

“My commitment to education extends to infrastructure and resources for schools, three months into my tenure in office, I went around my community’s primary and secondary schools to distribute books and other writing materials, the records are there we are going to do more in my second year in office,” he said.

Hon. Atu reiterated that beyond education, he has also initiated numerous constituency projects with many already completed and others ongoing. He said his desire and aim is to improve the overall quality of life for his constituents that all the projects are verifiable and stand as a testament to his dedication and transparency.

The astute lawmaker said employment generation has also been a cornerstone of his tenure, “I have given employment to several people in my constituency and I have also created many job opportunities for my people.”

He said he is optimistic and committed even as he gave thanks to God for  wisdom and strength to contribute his quota to the development of his people.

“By the special Grace of God, I still have three years to go. I believe God will continue to use me to bless my constituency even more and Edo State at large.

“If by one year in office, I can proudly say that I have done these projects and you go and verify that they are there, three years is even too far. By the time we come back again, by next year, I must have done double or triple of what I have done now,” he declared.
