According to him, “When we visited the school, our initial plan was to see how we can assist the students with some funds, but most of them were clamouring for desk; help to fix the school ceiling. We said okay, we won’t be able to fix the ceiling. We came up that since the students are clamouring for desk and fixing of the school ceilings, we said okay, let’s start with the provision of these desks we are seeing today.
“We wanted to start little, but to the glory of God, we are able to make these 42 desks for their learning. We would go back to our drawing board because we had really seen the need to assist the students. Our members are very happy, they are all very happy that this has come to reality. So, this is just a spring board for greater things to come to the school.”
Going further, Pastor Oravbiere added, “One of the things we intend doing is just to see how we would assist the students, give them writing materials that will help them. We are sure with God on our side, we will see how we can impact the students individually.
“Our vision is to see how we can encourage Uwelu Secondary School students studying hard for better tomorrow. The best students, we would enroll them in their exams free of charge, we would buy them books and also take care of their uniforms. We are sure in the nearest future, we will still embark on that, just to encourage learning.”
In her remark, the principal of the institution, Omoragbon Eghosa Helen (Mrs) who appreciated Team 88 for the kind donation of 42 set of chairs to the school, noted that Team 88 has broken the record with the provision of chairs to students for learning urged others almamater to emulate the kind gesture of Team 88 by donating other pressing needs which includes laboratory equipment and others which would enable Uwelu Secondary School students to compete with other schools across Edo State.
