Ex-Edo North Senatorial Woman leader of the All Progressive Congress, Hon (Mrs) Angelina Aigbokhai has called for support for the executive governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo and Deputy Governor Dennis Idahosa for them to take the state to an enviable height.

Hon. Aigbokhai made the call while speaking to newsmen on the developmental stride being undertaken so far by the governor to put smiles on the faces of Edo people.

According to her, “We appreciate God Almighty for bringing on board Senator Monday Okpebholo and his deputy, active administration that is making the good people of the state to be happy and also proud to have him as the state governor who knows the yearnings of the people.”

Going further, the ex APC woman leader said the election of Senator Monday Okpebholo was timely and he is someone who is more than ready to show to the people that he is out to ensure that the people get the real dividends of democracy pointing out that in his hundred days in office, there have been massive rehabilitation and construction of roads across the state, boast agriculture, improvement on  healthcare system and tackling the issues of insecurity head-on with provision of state of the act facilities and operational vehicles for the security agencies in the state.

On the appointment made so far, Hon. Aigbokhai lauded the governor describing it as a “a square peg in a squared hole “, adding that the women deeply appreciate the governor’s inclusive administration but however made passionate appeal to the governor to give the women folks more position by affirming the stipulated 35 percent in his administration as the women are the foot soldiers in any election processes.

On the ongoing Edo Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, Mrs. Angelina Aigbokhai said, “a drowning man will look for anything to hold on to for survival. For me, it is not because I’m a woman leader or APC member, there is no issues to be worried about because the case is clear for APC victory. It is evidently clear that the people came out and voted for Akpakomiza and their vote counted, there was no casualty, it was free and fair. In Owan West here, it was like a family affair and it went very well, by the grace of God, APC will get victory at the end of the day/” 

Hon. Aigbokhai then appealed to the people of Owan West in particular especially now that the election is over and won by APC to shun all forms of division but rather to work together and join hands with the governor and his deputy both spiritually, physically for Okpebholo and his deputy to succeed and bring dividend of democracy to the door step of the Edo people.

She also commended the leaders of APC across Edo State for the unity and ensuring total victory for the party.

She also used the opportunity to felicitate with Muslims and Christians faithfuls on the commencement of Ramadan fast and Lent period respectively and urged them to continue praying for the peaceful coexistence as well as the growth, progress and development of Edo State and the country in general.
