BIRTHDAY: John Yakubu Celebrates Edo Central PDP Leader, Chief Tom Ikimi @ 81

A frontline aspirant for the Edo Central Senatorial District by-election and member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State, Hon. John Yakubu has felicitated with Ex-Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Tom Ikimi on the occasion of the elderstateman 81st birthday.

This is contained in a statement signed by Hon. John Yakubu and made available to newsmen in Benin.

Yakubu wished the Ex-Foreign Affairs Minister, Chief Tom Ikimi, a great day as he savour the joy of the special day and being in good health.

The statement reads,:” I wish my kinsman, leader and elderstateman, Chief Tom Ikimi, a happy birthday as you mark this milestone.

“Your life is a testament of the goodness and love of God.

“Your contribution to society and the Esan People are immeasurable. No doubt the Almighty God has blessed you with abundant blessings, longevity, and sound health as an octogenarian that we all celebrate in Edo and across the country,” Yakubu said.

Chief Tom Ikimi was born on 10 April 1944 and is a Nigerian politician and architect who served as minister of foreign affairs from 1995 to 1998.

He was appointed chairman of ECOWAS Council of Ministers and ECOWAS Committee of Nine on Liberia (C-9) on 26 July 1996.

Chief Tom Ikimi has also served as chairman of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC) and was a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
