Ex-Edo Governorship Aspirant, Martins Okoukoni Resigns From LP

Former Edo State Governorship Aspirant in the September 12, 2024 gubernatorial election, Martins Azekhumen Okoukoni has formally resigned his membership from the Labour Party (LP).
This was contained in his resignation letter address to the Ward 3 Labour Party Chairman, Esan North-East local government area of the state and made available to journalists in Benin, Edo State capital.
According to the resignation letter, Martins Okoukoni stated, “This decision has not come lightly, but it is one l have taken after deep personal reflection, that at this stage of my life and career, l have chosen to fully dedicate myself to the growth and development of my humanitarian and charitable initiatives.

“My passion lies in supporting vulnerable communities, empowering the less privileged, and contributing to social change through direct community action,” he said.

“I remain grateful for the opportunity to have been part of the Labour Party and for the relationships built during my time as a member. I continue to hold deep respect for the party’s values and vision and wish the leadership and all members continued success in their efforts to build a better Nigeria.
“Please consider this letter as my formal notice of resignation, and | kindly request that my name be removed from all official party registers and communications..”
