Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has demonstrated leadership capacity that will enhance the living standards of Edo people.

This was disclosed by the Commissioner for Information and Communication, Hon. Paul Ohonbamu in a statement in Benin City.

According to him, Governor Okpebholo will never allow himself to be misled by sycophants or noise makers, but will rather continue to take bold steps to give Edo people good living standards.

“In the words of German philosopher, Peter Ducker, effective leadership is not about making speeches or being liked, rather leadership is defined by results and goal oriented programmes which Governor Okpebholo has commenced in the state.

“Edo people should be rest assured that the present administration is determined to surpass all previous administration in all ramifications of development.

“The Governor believes that education is the bedrock of every society, hence the priority given to the massive rehabilitation of dilapidated school buildings across the state, and the decision to return some of the schools back to missionaries, their original owners.

“The Governor has announced the release of Bursary to students in an unprecedented move in the political history of the state

“Governor Okpebholo’s policies have demonstrated capacity, courage and compassion, thereby restoring dignity and assurance that governance is to up lift the living standards of the governed.

The Commissioner therefore advised Edo citizens to be good citizens and  abide by the exhortation of Apostle Paul to Timothy in 1st Timothy 2: 1-3,  that, “First of all supplications, prayers, intercessions and giving of thanks be made for all men.

For Kings and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.”

While calling for prayers for the Governor to succeed, Ohonbamu stated that, “What we must understand is that those in authority are from God and God does not lie. They deserve our prayers and support.”
