Concerned Edo South APC Stakeholders’ Celebrate Ogbeide Ihama”s Victory, Commend Gov Okpebholo, Urge Reconciliation

The Concerned Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo South Senatorial District on Wednesday congratulated Hon. Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama on emergence as the party’s flagbearer for the 2027 Edo South Senatorial Election.

In a statement signed by Chief Amune Osamuyi James
Convener of the group said that the outcome of the primary election held on Monday is a victory for internal democracy, unity, and the collective will of party members.

According to him, As critical stakeholders, we commend the party for the peaceful and orderly conduct of the primary election and praise the leadership role played by His Excellency, Governor Monday Okpebholo, in ensuring that the process reflected the wishes of party members across the district and the state at large.

“The emergence of Hon. Ogbeide-Ihama has undoubtedly strengthened confidence within our great party, the APC, and reaffirmed its commitment to fairness, inclusiveness, and democratic principles.

“The primary election was not merely a contest among aspirants, but a defining moment for the future of the APC in Edo South and Edo State at large.

“We particularly applaud Governor Okpebholo for his firm belief in party supremacy and his commitment to allowing democratic processes to prevail without interference.

“The Governor’s conduct throughout the exercise demonstrated political maturity, leadership discipline, and loyalty to the ideals of the APC.”

Going further, the state added: “By his actions, Governor Monday Okpebholo has once again shown that leadership is best measured by respect for due process and the collective interest of the party. His disposition throughout the primary election has strengthened confidence among members and reassured stakeholders that the APC in Edo State remains united and focused.

“While celebrating the victory of Hon. Ogbeide-Ihama, we also call for reconciliation and unity among all party members ahead of the 2027 General Elections.

“We urge all aspirants who participated in the primary election, alongside their supporters, to embrace peace and continue working for the progress of the APC, because there should be ‘no victor and no vanquished’ after this exercise.

“Every aspirant contributed to deepening internal democracy within the party and deserves recognition and respect for their commitment to the APC.

“We appeal to Governor Okpebholo and the leadership of the party in Edo State to immediately initiate reconciliation efforts aimed at bringing together all tendencies within the party.

“We recommend the constitution of a reconciliation committee that will engage aggrieved members and strengthen unity across the senatorial district.

“In addition, we propose an enlarged stakeholders’ meeting involving party leaders, grassroots mobilizers, elected officials, youth groups, women groups, and ward representatives to consolidate the gains of the primary election and prepare the party for future electoral victories.

“Looking ahead to the 2027 elections, we reaffirm our commitment to the APC and pledge total support for Governor Okpebholo’s political vision for Edo State.

“Edo South remains strategically important to the electoral fortunes of the party, and we vow to mobilize support across all wards and local governments in the district.

“We also express confidence that with unity, reconciliation, and sustained grassroots mobilization, the APC will record significant victories in Edo State during the 2027 General Elections, including support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
