The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Prof. Idia Nibokun Ize-Iyamu, alongside the Chairman Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC), Dr. Emmanuel Osaigbovo and the hospital’s management, on Friday, August 28th, 2026, welcomed Hon. Billy Osawaru, the lawmaker representing Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency, to the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH).
During the visit, Hon. Osawaru was taken on a comprehensive tour of key facilities across the institution.
Management briefed the lawmaker on UBTH’s ongoing transformation, recent institutional achievements, and critical areas requiring legislative intervention to further boost operational capacity.
The interactive visit served as a strategic platform for the hospital leadership to engage the lawmaker on avenues to strengthen healthcare delivery, improve medical infrastructure, and advance the overall development of UBTH for the benefit of patients, staff and students.
