The management of the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) led by the Chief Medical Director (CMD), Prof. Idia Ize-Iyamu, on Monday, 14th September 2026, received a team from the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS) on a courtesy visit to the hospital.
The CMD appreciated the NRS delegation for the visit and the gesture of recognition. She reaffirmed the Hospital’s commitment to transparency, accountability, prudent resource management, and continuous improvement in its operations.
Prof. Ize-Iyamu emphasized deeper collaboration between both institutions, noting that partnerships that promote accountability, efficiency, and institutional sustainability are essential to UBTH.
Mr. Space Salami, Director of the Government Business Department, Abuja, and leader of the NRS delegation, representing the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service, Dr. Zacch Adelabu Adedeji commended the management of UBTH for their high level of commitment to financial and revenue-related responsibilities.
He highlighted that the Hospital’s efforts demonstrate a strong sense of institutional responsibility and accountability, worthy of formal recognition.
The meeting was attended by the Hospital’s Core Management Team, including Jim Uwadiae Esq.; Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (Clinicals), Dr. Philip Osho; Deputy Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (Research and Ethics), Prof. Adebola Ehizele; and Director of Nursing Services, Mrs. Grace Arheghan.
The visit provided an opportunity for the NRS delegation to commend the management of UBTH for the Hospital’s commitment to effective revenue generation, financial accountability, and compliance with its statutory revenue obligations.
