Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has expressed condolences to the family of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome, President of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, over the death of his mother, Deaconess Angel Oyakhilome.
Deaconess Oyakhilome who lived in Benin City, Edo State, died on Friday, September 25, 2026, at the age of 88.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed by Dr. Patrick Ebojele, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Okpebholo and made available to The9jaTREND in Benin, the state capital.
Dr. Ebojele stated that the governor described her death as a loss to the Oyakhilome family and to people who were touched by her life in Edo State and beyond.
“Losing a mother is never easy, whatever her age. But Deaconess Oyakhilome lived a long and fruitful life, and she raised children who have served humanity in their own ways. That is a legacy any parent would be proud of,” the governor said.
According to Governor Okpebholo, the values of faith, discipline and love that Deaconess Oyakhilome instilled in her children had contributed to the ministry and charitable activities of Pastor Oyakhilome, which has now reached millions of people in Nigeria and around the world.
Commending the family for the manner in which it had received the news, the governor say there was comfort in a life well lived.
He prayed for God’s comfort for Pastor Oyakhilome, his siblings, the wider Oyakhilome family and members of the LoveWorld community.
“On behalf of the government and people of Edo State, I extend our deepest condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time,” the governor said.
