I received with profound sadness the news of the passing of Barrister Oni Edigin, an astute, prolific and versatile grassroots politician, who passed away in the early hours of this morning.
Barrister Edigin was a dear friend and steadfast political ally whose friendship spanned over four decades. I deeply valued his commitment to our shared political ideals, his political insight and his dependable support over the years.
During my gubernatorial campaign in 2007, he was a valued member of the Elders Council of my Campaign Organisation. His experience, counsel and contributions to our collective efforts remain cherished memories of that defining period in my political journey.
His passing is a painful personal loss and a great loss to the political community. I will greatly miss his friendship, companionship and the many years of shared experiences.
I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, political associates and all those whose lives he touched. May God grant them the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss.
May his soul rest in perfect peace. Amen
