75-Year-Old Edo Female Pilgrim Dies, Buried In Makkah

The Chairman of Edo State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Mallam Musah Muhammad Uduimoh, has announced the sudden death of Mrs. Danzumi Adizatu, who is participating in the ongoing 2025 Hajj exercise.
The 75-year-old female pilgrim hailed from Jattu, Uzairue in Etsako West Local Government Area of the State.
She reportedly died on Monday, May 26, 2025, at King Fahad General Hospital, in Makkah, after a brief illness.
Mallam Muhammad broke the news of her death in a WhatsApp voice note in the morning of Tuesday, May 27, 2025. He, however, did not disclose the nature of her illness.
According to him, “Mrs. Adizatu was hospitalized on Sunday, May 25, 2025, after (Tawaaf) following a short illness and succumbed to her condition the following day.
“In accordance with Islamic rites, Mrs. Adizatu was buried in Makkah on the evening of the same day she passed away.
“The Chairman of the Board has since contacted her family in Jattu Uzairue to inform them of the tragic development.”
