Ahead of the Edo State Local Government Council Election slated for 2026, a pal based in Delta State, in a telephone conversation “Appreciated me for promoting MAXWELL ISIMA for Chairman, IGUEBEN Local Government Council.?”
To say that I was shell shocked by his enquiry is to state the least. The enquirer is in faraway Delta State where he is asking me here in Edo State and a true son of Edo Central Senatorial District – my decision to promote the ambition of MAXWELL ISIMA from IGUEBEN as the next Chairman of the Local Government Council.
This I must confess is the level of awareness that people across the country have about the activity of MAXWELL ISIMA; a philanthropist per excellence, engages in helping the needy not restricted to IGUEBEN alone, Edo Central as the case may be, but Edo State at large which has earned him the alias ‘MAX’ which is gradually submerging his name.
Just so we put the write up in perspective, MAXWELL ISIMA is a philanthropist who always feel happy helping the downtrodden in the society.
This is the calibre of MAXWELL ISIMA, a Promise Keeper. He has adhered to this philanthropist disposition which he carries out expending his personal funds without blinking an eyelid. He has been on this project for quite some time.
At a stage years back, MAX as he is popularly called by those who had come across and benefitted in his benevolence kind gesture, highly interested in ensuring that the educational standard of his home local government does not fall beyond a particular level.
MAXWELL ISIMA’s philanthropic gestures also involve empowerment of the less privileged; support for women and assisting the farmers in the society.
Philanthropism is sure embedded in the DNA of MAXWELL ISIMA and so he cannot just stop giving and sharing.
As 2026 Edo State Local Government Council Election comes around, the future of better IGUEBEN is in the hands of the electorates to join MAXWELL ISIMA and ensure that the dividend of democracy is cut across the nook and cranny of the 10 wards that made up the local government council.
In the race for the Igueben LGC Chairmanship seat, the name Maxwell Isima leads the pack, others follow, and his emergence as the candidate of APC and subsequently emerged as the Chairman of Igueben Local Government Council is a welcome development. His ability to amplify the voice of the Igueben people among his contemporary in the comity of chairmen across Edo Central Senatorial District and take them to high places is unparalleled.
