NMA Hails Police Over Arrest of Kidnap Suspect Linked to Doctor Abduction in Edo

The Edo State Branch of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), has commended the Edo State Police Command, led by Commissioner of Police (CP) Monday Agbonika, for their successful apprehension of a kidnap suspect linked to the abduction of one of its members, emphasizing the police force’s unwavering dedication to citizen safety.

The commendation follows the State Police Command’s announcement on Sunday regarding the arrest of three members of a kidnap gang involved in the abduction of Dr. Ibrahim Babatunde Abu and Tahir Abu.

In a statement made available to jounrnalists in Benin City, Chairman of the State Branch of the NMA, Dr. Eustace Oseghale and Secretary, Dr. Iluobe Inegbenosun, applauded the police efforts in bolstering security throughout Edo State.

Oseghale said that the recent capture of a kidnap suspect allegedly involved in the abduction of one of their members is a clear demonstration of their dedication and commitment to safeguarding doctors and residents in the Edo State.

“The Commissioner of Police, Edo State Police Command, the Nigeria Medical Association, Edo State Branch extends our heartfelt commendation for your tireless efforts in enhancing security in Edo State. The recent capture of a kidnap suspect allegedly involved in the abduction of one of our members is a testament to your dedication and commitment to the safety of our citizens. We particularly applaud the swift and tactical response of your officers, which has brought hope to the victim’s family and the entire community.

“We’re confident that this breakthrough will be pursued with utmost diligence, leading to justice for the perpetrators and a significant reduction in kidnapping incidents in the state. Your efforts will be surely etched in the sands of history, ” Oseghale said.

Recall that the Edo State Police Command had on Sunday confirmed the arrest of three members of the kidnap gang, which abducted two brothers, Dr. Ibrahim Babatunde Abu and Tahir Abu.
