The Executive Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has expressed deep sorrow over the death of Brigadier General O.O. Braimah, describing it as a painful loss to Edo State and the nation.
This was disclosed by Dr. Patrick Akhere Ebojele, Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to Governor Okpebholo and made available to.newsmen in Benin, the State capital.Dr. Ebojele disclosed that Governor Okpebholo in a condolence message, the governor paid tribute to the late officer as a proud son of Edo State who gave his life in service to Nigeria. He said Braimah’s courage and sense of duty stood out, noting that he remained committed to the peace and unity of the country until the very end.
The Governor described the fallen general as a symbol of sacrifice and dedication, adding that his service reflects the values of discipline and patriotism the nation continues to rely on.
“This loss is not only felt by the Nigerian Army but also by Edo State and the country as a whole. While we mourn, we are also proud of the life he lived and the service he gave,” he said.
He extended condolences to the family of the late general, the Nigerian Armed Forces, and all who are grieving, urging them to take comfort in the legacy he leaves behind.
The governor also prayed for the repose of his soul and strength for those he left behind.
“Rest on, brave son of Edo State. Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.”
