45 Years Artisan Allegedly Torture To Death By Air Force Personnel
…As family demands for accelerated investigation

A 45 years old man identified as Isaiah Omoruyi, has reportedly died from torture he received from some personnel of the Air Force Base in Benin City led by Flight Lieutenant N. S. Danshi.
According to source, Isaiah Omoruyi, (now deceased) who is married with two kids is into Alamako (store glass) and agent job business.
The source further revealed that, on Saturday 7th of January, 2023, one Emmanuel Osewingie owner of Precious Emily K Empire with office address at 14, Stadium Road, Opp. Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Ogbe Quarters, Benin City contacted Isaiah Omoruyi to fix two glasses door but by default, destroyed one of the glasses.
The owner of the store, Emmaneul Osewingie insisted that he (Isaiah Omoruyi) must replace the broken glass and thereafter seize the work tools that Isaiah Omoruyi brought to the site.
According to the source, “the late Isaiah Omoruyi, without any mobilization fee for the job, came back on Thursday 12th of January, 2023 with the receipt showing evidence of payment that he made to order for the glass door to enable him retrieve his seized working equipment seized by Emmanuel Osewingie.
All the explanations made by Isaiah Omoruyi that he rented the equipment which had accumulated daily charges fell on deaf ears as Emmanuel Osewingie insisted that he cannot released the equipment until he fix the broken glass.
As the argument continues, a female Air Force Officer identified as Jovita Ebosele, serving in Port-Harcourt, Rivers State suspected to be girlfriend of Emmanuel Osewingie who was said to have been recruited into the service barely three years made a call to the head of Air Force Police, Flight Lieutenant N. S. Danshe who immediately sent his men down to the scence where he was physically harassed before they bundled him into awaiting vehicle to their Air Force Based along Airport Road, where Isaiah Omoruyi received the beaten of his life.
The9JaTREND further gathered that the victim was asked to go home by the Air Force officers after he received the beaten of his life for hours.
On getting home, while narrating his ordeal to his wife Isaiah Omoruyi collasped and was rushed to a nearby hospital and was later refer to University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) after discovery that he suffered broken rib cage which punctured his lungs and the doctor advised that he should be taken to UBTH.
While at the UBTH, the doctor also collaborated the previous hospital’s medical report that he suffered broken rib cage which punctured his lungs.
It was reported that the deceased, Isaiah Omoruyi died at about 11.30pm on January 18 at UBTH after doctors on duty made several attempts to save his life.
The9jaTREND also gathered that family of the Isaiah Omoruyi quickly reported the matter to the Aideyan Police Station to formally report the matter which necessitated the arrest of Emmanuel Osewingie and Jovita Ebesele, the female Air Force Officer.
It was also discovered that during interrogation and in her statement at the Aideyan Police Station, the said Jovita Ebosele admitted to the crime likewise Emmanuel Osewingie.
A source at the Division told The9JaTREND that N. S Danshi and other top officers, took Jovita Ebosele linked to the alleged murder on bail.
Elder brother of the deceased, Mr. Godspower Omoruyi, a retired Senior police officer, has appealed to police authorities to transfer the case from Aideyan Police Division to the Department of Criminal Investigation Department of the State Police Command for accelerated investigation.
The family source added that his deceased brother would get justice as all the culprits including the Air Force officers in the case must be made to face the full wrath of the law for alleged murder.
“He (Isaiah Omoruyi) said was like every normal artisan eking out a living. In the course of that he broke a glass door which he had already ordered for.
“Why should anyone in the name of the Nigerian Airforce use his uniform to oppress an innocent and defenceless individual thereby leading to his death?
“Nowhere in the Constitution gives anyone such rights to take another person’s life, and this case is between the federal government and the family of the deceased”, Omoruyi’s elder brother stressed.
Meanwhile, information reaching The9JaTREND revealed that the Edo State Commissioner of Police, CP Dankwara Mohammed has invited both parties to the State Police Command and advised the Air Force authority to produce the culprits unfailingly.
