According to the respondents, the mantra of ‘you don’t change a winning team’ should be applied appropriately when nomination of commissioners is being considered.

The United Kingdom and American trained graduate of Economics and Business Administration was appointed a commissioner by Governor Obaseki in March, 2022 and consequently deployed to the Ministry of Business, Trade and Cooperatives where she did not only proved her mettle but also succeeded in raising the bar on public performance within 14 months in office.

Before the dissolution of the state cabinet, Hon. Braimoh was one of the star performers whose ministerial activities touched base directly with the people.

In particular, she earned the love and trust of the people as a result of the uncommon zeal and verve she brought into public office as well as the speed and transparency with which she executed government policies, especially the “Made in Edo” policy which she tagged Proudly Edo

The policy ensure that locally produced goods enjoyed the same visibility if not more than their imported counterparts on the shelves of both the big and small supermarkets across the state and beyond.

Her local government of origin, the Owan East, is not leaving any stone unturned in ensuring that she is reappointed whenever the state governor decides to constitute cabinet .

The Owan East women are looking forward for the completion of a facility center meant for cooperatives women cassava farmers .

It was reliably gathered that the political leaders in her domain are proud of her accomplishments as a member of the state executive council and have, therefore, vowed to launch an all-out lobby for her reappointment.

The clamour for her reappointment is also gaining traction across the political divides in the Edo North district.

The talk in the district centers around how she was able to bring life back into the activities of the local MSMEs as well as the fervor with which she promoted the “Made in Edo” policy of the state government.

According to sources closed to her ministry, she needs to complete the overhaul of Co-operatives which took off with the development of a Cooperatives database that would digitize the process of registering and managing Cooperatives in Edo State,.

These and more that the former commissioner embarked on for 2023 will no doubt complete the mandate that was set up in her quest to uplift the people of Edo State, empower, create wealth and policies that will provide sustainability towards the MEGA agenda.

Besides, many of those pushing for her renomination for the post anchor their efforts on the fact that Hon. Afie has related very well with others irrespective of the differences in political affiliations.

Also, they point to the fact that she is a first-class socialite who does not exhibit the irritating nuances of most spoilt brats despite her privileged background as the daughter of a seasoned engineer, senator, and the political leader of Owan nation.
