Martins Okoukoni Calls On FG To Look Into Deplorable Federal Roads In Edo

A frontline Edo 2024 gubernatorial aspirant and founder of Martins Okoukoni Care Foundation, Mr. Martins Okoukoni has appealed to Bola Ahmed Tinubu, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria to look into the deplorable federal roads across Edo State and cost of fuel in Nigeria.
The appeal was made in a press statement issued and signed by Okoukoni and made available to newsmen.
Okoukoni who is desirous of governing Edo State come 2024 gubernatorial election, said that the current economic hardship Nigerians are currently experiencing is as a result of bad leadership who does not mean well for the citizens of this country, noting that it is the duty of every responsible government both at the state and federal levels to protect the lives and properties of its citizens.
“Suffice to state here that it is the duty of every responsible government both at the state and federal levels to protect the lives and properties of its citizens. If a governor cannot attract the attention of a federal agency to maintain roads in a state, how possible will such governor attract international investment into the state?
“The current downfall of Nigeria economy can be traced to decaying infrastructures and lack of vision from the leaders of our country who abandoned Nigerians who came out in large numbers to vote them into power.”
Continued: “I also appeal to President Tinubu to look into the high cost of fuel in the country and consider parents with low pay income. The continuous high cost of fuel will lead to hunger and starvation in the country
“Nigeria leaders cannot continue to give excuses and allow the hard work and vision of our heroes past reduced to nothing.
“If l, Martins Okoukoni eventually emerged the candidate of my party and subsequent emerged victorious as the Governor of Edo State come 2024 gubernatorial election, I will make sure I work hand in hand with federal agencies to making sure all federal roads are maintained to the highest standards, and I will also make sure the suffering of Edo people becomes history,” he promised.
