Gov. Obaseki Commended For Revamping The Nigerian Observer

Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki. has been commended for his efforts at repositioning the Bendel Newspaper Company Limited, publishers of The Nigerian Observer newspapers.

Chairman, Oil and Gas Energy Committee, Egbokor Community, Orhionmwon Local Government Area, Edo State, Dr. Larry A. Agbonghae made the commendation when the members of the committee paid a courtesy visit to the General Manager of The Nigerian Observer, Barr. Solomon Imhohionsen recently.

He said with the massive renovation that is been carried out by the Governor and new equipment already on ground, the Nigerian Observer that everyone used to know will bounced back to reckoning.

While commending the General Manager for the good work in ensuring that the newspaper remain in the news stand, Dr. Agbonghae said Egbokor Community is an oil producing community with five oil wells and two already functional and with the construction of modular refinery that the state governor is expected to commission in october hence the visit to the organisation.

The committe chairman added that, with the development expecially with lifting of oil in the community, there will always be that agitations, that is why they have come to solicit for assistant and support to informed the teeming youths and everybody to be calm for them to really feel the impact of the God given natural endowment for the development of not only Egbokor and surrounding villages but the state at large.

He said that the advocacy visit is to appeal and help send the message to every corner of Orhionmwon that the people should stand by the community and the committee setup so that there would be peace and development in the entire local government.

He then informed Barr. Imhohionsen that the mandate of the committee is to represent the community in all activities between the oil company and the government.

In his response, the General Manager of BNCL., Barr. Solomon Imhohionsen assured the committee members that the Nigerian Observer is for everybody particularly Edo State indigenes and residence and informed them that the paper is everywhere, internet space, Facebook, Twitter and so on.

He further assured them that Nigerian Observer is going to bounced back as it use to be in those old good days especially now that Governor Godwin Obaseki has put alot of facilities in place and the machinery already on ground.

The Observer General Manager clearified to the committee that there have never been anytime that the paper was out of circulation, it has always been here but with the new development by the Governor, the Observer Newspapers is going to be everywhere in the state and outside the state.

He noted that the company is for peace and that is why the management is conscious of what goes into the paper and something that will cause problem so that investors will not be scared away but to rather published things that will help to bring in development.

He appealed to them to help carry the observer far and wide as good citizen of the state adding that it has been confirmed by everybody noting that it was also confirmed by the 4 Brigade when they visited that it was only The Nigerian Observer that was giving them indept reports online from the south south while they were in far away Sudan for military work.

He then urged them to always consider the Nigerian Observer whenever they have adverts so as to make revenue for the company to grow, we want to publish good things that will portray the state in good faith to the public.

Other members of the committee that accompanied the chairman were Barr. Mrs. E. A. Uwaifo, legal adviser, Dr. Ebose Igbinidu, Mr. Nosakhare Igbinidu, Asst. Secretary, Comrade Aghimien and Mr. Joseph Aiwuyor.
