Jonathan Defection: A Good Development For APC, Says Chief Inegbeneki

OIL Tycoon and the Atayese of Lagos, Chief Francis Inegbeniki  said
the remoured  doing round the social media on the  defection of former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr.  Goodluck Ebelle  Jonathan to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) is an indication that the PDP has losed touch with Nigerians.

Chief Inegbeniki, a former Senatorial candidate of the All Progressives (APC) Congress in the 2015 Edo Central Senatorial election who disclosed that the APC was waxing stronger ahead of the 2023 general election said the gale of defection across the country
from PDP to the ruling APC and the internal crisis rocking the party is an attestation to the fact that the PDP has lost touch with political reality.

He made the observation when some APC leaders and other top echelon of the party paid him a solidarity visit, in his Benin City residence to beg him to contest for the position of the  Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State.

According to Inegbeniki, “I am is still consulting with party  faithfuls and other staunch member of the party who have the final say.

It is the political leaders from across the 18 Local Government Councils that will decide and pledged to be available to serve his people if need be, If given the opportunity to serve as the State Chairman  of APC, l will rebuild and rebrand the party ahead of  2023. I also promised to reconcile all political tendencies in the state,” he assured.

Expressing his unalloyed support for the APC ahead of the Edo State Congress, Inegbeneki urged all members of the APC to remain steadfast and restrategize in her efforts to reclaim Edo state in future elections.

He called on the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki to respect the rule of law and properly inaugurate the House of Assembly and also constitute the State Exco,

“Section 192 of the Nigeria Constitution is very clear: ‘The governor SHALL appoint commissioners which shall be confirmed by the house of assembly’.”

Inegbeneki also pledged to lead the party as State Chairman of the APC in Edo, just as he solicit  the support of all stakeholders saying, “he is willing and ready to win back Edo State to APC.
