Stop Illegal PDP Meeting Or Face Sanctions – Esan North-East PDP Warns Onolememen

Esan North-East chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has warned former Minister of Works, the Adolor of Uromi Kingdom, Chief Arch. Dr. Mike Onolememen to desists from further illegal meetings else appropriate sanctions will be meted on him in accordance with the Constitution of the Party.

The decision was taken on Sunday, October 24, 2021, where leaders of the Party in the local government met in pursuance of the Harmonization/Integration drive of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the LGA.

The meeting held at Uromi, at the Senatorial Chairman’s House, was aimed at fostering unity and development of the Party and supporting the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, in the delivery of good governance in the state.

A number of issues affecting the party in the LGA were deliberated and agreed on. The leaders observed that an illegal and factional meeting was held on October 13, 2021, at the instance of one Monday Arebun to dissolve the executive of the Local Government Area, which is contrary to the guidelines handed down by the Edo State Integration Committee.

The State Chairman, Dr. Anthony Aziegbemi, on October 14, 2021 issued a statement, declaring that the outcome of the illegal meeting is ultra vires, therefore null and void.

Upon consideration of the foregoing, the leaders drew up a fresh harmonized wards and local government Executive Committee and adopted same to be authentic and representative of the wishes of members of the party in the wards and local government area.

The leaders also frowned at the factional meetings being sponsored by the former Minister for Works and Housing, Arch. Mike Onolememe in Esan -North East LGA. They warned that he should desists from further illegal meetings else appropriate sanctions will be meted on him in accordance with the constitution of the party.

The party warned Arch. Onolememe to stop sponsoring violence across the LGA.

Among the leaders in attendance are Archbishop Anthony Okosun, Clifford Inegbedion, Prince Joe Okojie, Hon. Friday Itula, Hon. John Yakubu, Hon. Philip Olumese, Prince MacDonald Okojie, Hon. Emma Okoduwa, Hon. Clifford Eineh, Hon. Joe Osifo, Prince Ameh Iseghohi Okojie, Barr. Dan Okojie, Hon. Raymond Ukoba, Barr. Buddy Inegbedion, Hon. Ken Ebosele, Hon. Rudy Iyoha, Hon. Anslem Oduah, Emmanuel Emafoh, Sylvester Imafidon, Mr. Robert Ubuane and Prince Dan Okojie, Okoijie Patrick (Bejel).

Others are Hon. Odion Oaikhena, Hon. Andy Esene, Prince Uwagbale, Hon. Ben Emietor, Benedict Iyinda, Chief Francis Iseghohimen, LGA executives, eleven ward chairmen, eleven women leaders and youth leaders and a host of other leaders in Esan North East LGA, among others.
