Benin Monarch Hands Over Murder Suspect To Police

Benin Monarch, His Royal Majesty, Omo N’Oba N’Edo, Uku Akpolokpolor, Oba Ewuare II, has handed over a murder suspect Mr. Justin Amadin Omoruyi to the Edo police command for his involvement in the alleged killing of a yet to be identified person at Ekiugbo community in Uhumwonde local government area.

The suspect, Mr. Justice Omoruyi who is the Okaeghele of Ekiugbo community was said to have led a dreaded armed thugs to the village shooting sporadically which led to the death of the unidentified middle age man.

The former youth leader (Okaeghele), was said to have be a key figure in a battle of supremacy between Odiowere, Pa Emmanuel Omoruyi and Chief Priest Okuomwonyo Erumwonse, the Ohen of the Community.

Okaeghele Omoruyi who had escaped from security personnel at the wake of the killing was picked up at the Oba palace during a meeting between the two factional rival groups of the community.

Subsequent upon his arrest, the Odiowere and Ohen, Pa Emmanuel Omoruyi and Okuomaronyi Erumwonse who were initially detained were released.

His Royal Majesty, Oba Ewuare II, however, immediately relieved the Odiowere and Ohen of their traditional and spiritual duties while the second in command Pa Ogiemwonyi, Ehioyomwanbor was asked to act as the Odiowere of the community by the Benin Monarch.
