Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun Bags Heroes Award.

The speaker Edo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun has bagged the heroes of violence against persons prohibition law award.

The award was presented to Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun by a group of over one thousand individual women and women institutions under the auspices of the feminist womanifesto platform.

The group presented the award to the speaker for championing the passage of the violence against persons law in Edo State.

Receiving the award the speaker Rt Hon Marcus Onobun thanked the feminist womanifesto group for giving him the recognition with the award.

Rt. Hon. Marcus Onobun explained that the need for the development of the society expecially women who make up a large number of the population of the country a Sense of belonging was his motivation .

The speaker said he has also been in the forefront of groups with the burning desire to protect the weak against violence which includes domestic and societal violence spurred him to work for the passage of the VAAP law.

He thanked them and assured that the award would spur him to do more.

The feminist womanifesto group is a platform articulating the demands of women’s rights ,gender discrimination, and maintain zero tolerance for sexual and gender based violence
