Festus Alenkhe’s Mother Passes On

The Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ), has announced the passing on to glory of the mother of the state union’s Chairman and the producer of the popular TV programme, Crime Watch on the Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), Comrade Festus Alenkhe.

In a press statement, the state Secretary of union, Comrade Andy Egbon stated that Madam Rose Akuogbe Alenkhe passed away on 7th November, 2022 after a brief illness.

Part of the statement reads, “The leadership of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Edo State Council regrets to announce the passing-on to Glory of Madam Rose Akuogbe Alenkhe, mother of Comrade Festus Alenkhe, the Chairman of the Edo State  Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ). She passed away on 7th November , 2022.

“She was 76 years. Other information would be made known later.”

Born 76 years ago, into Onahinor family of Emu, Esan South-East Local Government Area of Edo state, Late Madam Rose Akuogbe Alenkhe married David Alenkhe of Okhuesan in the same local government.

She was a successful businesswoman who left behind four children, including the chairman of the Edo State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, (NUJ) Comrade Festus Alenkhe.
