FG, NDDC Empowers Edo State Indigenes With Keke-Napep

The Federal Government and Ministry of Niger-Delta Development Commission (NDDC), has empowered Fourteen Edo State indigenes with Tricycles also known as “KEKE NAPEP” and One Hundred Thousand Naira each.
The ceremony which took place at the Benin City resident of the NDDC Finance Director, Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (Rtd) was attended by All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftains across the three senatorial district of Edo State.
In his opening address, the NDDC Finance Director, Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (Rtd) said the empowerment project will take the youths off the streets and become self-reliant.
Maj.-Gen Airhiavbere, said beneficiaries were subjected to tests and other criteria before they were chosen for the empowerment programme.
“The beneficiaries were subjected to text and other criteria which included the role they played during the just concluded presidential elections.
“This is the first empowerment programme during my time as the Finance Director of NDDC and is ongoing. For those who could not make the list, l encourage you to be patient and it will surely get to their turn.”
Some leaders of APC from the local government areas of the beneficiaries deeply applauded the fact that the Tricycles will reduce the burden of poverty amongst them.
The chairman of the occasion, General Celcil Esekhaigbe (Rtd) appealed to the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the tricycle.
Some of the Beneficiaries expressed deep appreciation to their benefactors, Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (Rtd).
The beneficiaries were selected from the Three Senatorial districts of Edo State.
