AAO For Good Governance Holds First Strategic Meeting To Strengthen Grassroots Engagement

In a bid to enhance community inclusiveness and political advocacy, Act As One (AAO) For Good Governance, a social-political organization, convened a pivotal meeting in Benin City, Edo State capital on Friday 22nd March, 2024.

The meeting brought together members from various local government areas to discuss strategies for effective grassroots mobilization and government engagement.

Delivering her address, the Convener, Ms. Eson Blessing Osariemen who provided insights into AAO’s mission, emphasized its structured approach to community outreach, as she reiterated its commitment to holding government accountable for good governance.

Osariemen urged members to prioritize contributions over monetary incentives, and emphasized the importance of constructive engagement and grassroots campaigns.

A Co-Convener, Mr. Bevy Efe who re-echoed these sentiments stressed the organization’s social-political focus and the benefits of active participation.

He urged members to demonstrate commitment and engagement, citing the cliché ‘na who work dey chop’ to underscore the rewards of diligent effort.

Also speaking Mr. Godwin Eghianruwa who earlier led a solemn prayer encouraged unity and forward momentum, while urging members to spread the organization’s message and appreciate leadership efforts.

While tasking the incoming local government coordinators with selecting ward and unit leaders, Mr. Eghianruwa urged them to establish WhatsApp groups and ensure proper documentation.

In the same vein, the Group Admin, Mr.  Akin-Ola Emmanuel Eloghosa emphasized the need for social media coordination from local government level, and comprehensive member data capture, underscoring the importance of effective communication and outreach.

Highlight of the event was the appointment of some local government area coordinators. They include Egor, Orhionnwon, Oredo, Ovia South-West and Ikpoba-Okha local government areas.
