Edo 2024: Akoko-Edo PDP Stakeholders Meet, Assure Victory In Poll

Leaders and members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over the weekend met in Igarra, headquarters of Akoko-Edo local government area where they unanimously pledged work and ensure victory for the party in the September 21st governorship election.

Addressing the party faithful, Convener of the meeting  which attracted members from the Ten (10) Wards in the local government area and a chieftain of the party, Abiodun  Johnson popularly called ‘Abifa’ commend the unity of purpose of the members of the party in the local government area.

He also lauded the support the running mate to the Governorship Candidate of the party, Osarodion Ogie Esq was giving to the candidate, Asue Ighodalo describing the team as a “perfect match that is guaranteed of victory on Election Day.”

Abiodun also expressed confidence said the PDP in the state would resolve all its crisis in a short time and approach the election as one.

He said: “This is the time the party needs to work together as a family to win the next election and ensure that the PDP remains the state and I believe this will be achieved.
 
“We have a very good team. Our candidate is pairing with a good man who has been of immense help to people in the three Senatorial Districts including me. That is a team that will take Edo State to a level of reference by others in terms of development so all hands must be on deck to make sure this is done.”

The Chairman in the Council, Hon. Alade expressed his appreciation for the efforts of the Convener of the meeting and enumerated all projects so far completed and ongoing ones by his administration which he said were already materials for campaigns once embargo in campaign is lifted.

On her part, Mrs. Balogun expressed gratitude to Governor Godwin Obaseki for considering Akoko-Edo worthy for the office of Deputy Governor of the State, which according to her, has put an end to the age long cry of marginalization.

Among the PDP leaders who attended the event were the Executive Chairman of Akoko-Edo Local Government Council, Hon. Tajudeen Alade (Esq); Hon. Mrs. P. O. Balogun, Special Adviser to the Governor of Edo State; Hon. Solomon Taiwo, Senior Special Assistant ( SSA) to the Governor; Mrs. Bose Ashipa,  Hon. Fatai Maliki,  Ward Chairmen, and others.
