Completion Of Guinness Way Electrifies Host Community, Residents In Edo

Respite came the way of residents of Oregebeni Community in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State on Tuesday, 14th May, 2024 as they celebrated the commissioning of the second phase of Guinness Way popularly called ‘Trailer Road’ after over a decade when the project construction was initiated.

Speaking at the official commissioning of the second phase of Guinness Way, the Managing Director, Guinness Nigeria Plc, Adebayo Alli said the project is a testament of the firm’s commitment to Community development and sustainable progress.

Alli said the community project represents more than just the construction of a road, but embodies the firm’s enduring dedication to creating positive change in her host communities.

“The completion of Guinness Way represents more than just the construction of a road. It embodies our enduring dedication to creating positive change in the communities we serve. With every kilometre paved, we have forged a path towards greater connectivity, accessibility and opportunity for the residents of Oregebeni and the public in general.”

Alli noted that the road project, which cost over N500 Million represents the second phase of a project initiated a decade ago.

“It stands as a symbol of our dedication to enhancing the infrastructure within out host communities.  But beyond its physical presence, the Guinness Way serves a vital purpose in mitigating the impact of severe erosion and ensuring safe passage for both pedestrians and vehicles in the Oregebeni Community.”

Representative of Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki,  Isoken Omo, who is the state Commissioner for Physical Planning  Housing and Urban and Regional Development said the project is dear to the host community and wound bring the needed development to the people and Edo state.

Elders of the host community led by Acting Head (Odionwere) of Oregebeni Community, Pa. Joseph Iserierien  and Secretary of the community, Osamede Arasonwan  expressed appreciation  to Edo State Governor and Guinness Nigeria Plc for the newly constructed road and called for more of such developmental projects.

“We are looking forward to see that the popular Roundabout in Ramat Park to be reduced and fixed to reduce traffic gridlock especially on Oregebeni Market days, with security light round the market among others,” Pa. Iserierien  said.
