Aiguobasinmwin Movement World-wide, a socio-cultural group in Benin, has thrown its weight behind PProfessor Edoba Bright Omoregie SAN, Vice Chancellor (VC) of the University of Benin (Uniben) newly incorporated Board of Trustees (BoT) University of Benin Trust Development Fund.
This is contained in statement by the group’s leadership headed by Mr. Iyamu Osaro Culture – President, Mr. Osayuki-Osa Benson – Secretary General and Mr. Monday Ohuimumwen JP – Diaspora Coordinator made available to newsmen in Benin City, Edo State capital.
While extolling the VC for bringing the Trust Fund to bear the Aiguobasinmwin Movement World-wide, said “his foresight and passion towards impact making as Vice Chancellor of University of Benin is indeed worth emulating.”
According to the group, “the historic inauguration of the newly incorporated Board of Trustees University of Benin Trust Development Fund whose functions is to work with the University Management to identify infrastructure and academic needs, forge partnerships with alumni, organizations and friends of the University in order to mobilize resources for specific capital and academic projects in the University, support faculty development through sponsorship of research, training, and to encourage mentorship programmes across the faculties, secure sponsorships, grants and provide welfare assistance to indigent students and to recognize and reward academic excellence among staff and students being ably chaired by Pastor (Dr.) Osagie Ize-Iyamu.”
Going further, the group added; “interestingly, this unprecedented milestone is the first of its kind in Nigeria universities which was invented by our illustrious Vice Chancellor, Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie SAN.
“Professor Edoba Bright Omoregie SAN is indeed making waves with this innovative approach to the University of Benin development and academic excellence. The University of Benin Trust Development Fund is a game-changer, and it’s amazing to see that the Vice Chancellor vision becoming a reality.
“Conclusively, we therefore appeal to Uniben Alumni and well-meaning Nigerians to give their maximum support for the newly inaugurated Board of Trustees University of Benin Development Trust Fund in order to achieve the set goal of the Management of University of Benin.”
