CPC Seeks Edo State Security Corps Collaboration for Enforcement of Consumers Rights, Market Inspections

The Edo State Consumer Protection Committee on Tuesday called for collaboration and security support from the Edo State Security Corps as it prepares to begin statewide operations to protect consumers and enforce market standards across the state.

Mr. Iyamu Osaro Culture, Chairman of the Committee, who led some members of the Management Team, disclosed this during a courtesy visit to the Commander of the Edo State Security Corps in Benin City.

 Mr. Iyamu Osaro stated that the Committee is set to commence statewide enforcement of consumer rights, market inspections, and the upholding of standards across the 18 Local Government Areas of the State.

The Committee requested security backup for its enforcement activities and the establishment of special squads to support its daily operations.

The Chairman assured the Security Corps of the Committee’s readiness to work closely with the agency to ensure effective consumer protection across the State.

In response, the Commander of the Edo State Security Corps, Mr. Richard Balogun, expressed the Corps’ readiness to support and collaborate with the Committee in the discharge of its mandate.

Balogun assured the committee of a Stand-By-Squad anytime the committee will be going out for enforcement.
