Prof. Victor Olawale Adetimirin Appointed as New ESUI  VC

Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo has approved the appointment of Prof. Victor Olawale Adetimirin as a substantive Vice Chancellor of Edo State University, Iyamoh.

In a statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Umar Musa Ikhilor Esq said Prof. Adetimirin from Ekiti State University (EKSU)bis a distinguished academic and researcher specialized in plant breeding and genetics, particularly in the field of cassava.

Prof. Victor Olawale Adetimirin who is a native of Akure, Ondo State, Nigeria was born on October 10, 1967 obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Education, specialized in Fine and Applied Arts, from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka.

He is known for his work in cassava research and has authored several publications in this area. He also holds the position of Head of Department of Theatre and Media Arts at Ekiti State University (EKSU).

It would be recalled that the tenure of the pioneer Vice chancellor, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor expired on the 31st of May, 2024 with the appointment of Prof. Dawood Ibrahim Egbefo as the Acting Vice Chancellor.

Professor Victor Olawale Adetimirin is happily married with children.
