Security Operatives Disrupt Secret Meeting In Ihiala

No fewer than four members of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have been reported dead in Ihiala Community in Ihiala local government area of Anambra State after soldiers of the Nigerian Army allegedly attacked and disrupted a secret operation of the group.
The four IPOB members are Emeka Okeke, Christian Eze, Okwesiri Eze and Chukwuma Obi.
The members of the proscribed IPOB were raided on April 16, 2022 following intelligence gathering on the illegal activities of the group bothering on illicit drug dealing, planned decision to attack military formation and insurrection.
According to further information made available, four members of the group were confirmed dead during the attack by the Nigerian army who stormed the venue of the meeting in a Hilux vehicle as others escaped.
Confirmed reports in Ihiala Community revealed that Marvelous Ogonna, Nwanchukwu Stanley, Chukwudi Peter Ogueri are among those who escaped.
Meanwhile, confirmed reports made available revealed that the above listed members of the group had been declared wanted for unlawful gathering and acts to commit treasonable felony in the State.
The members of the proscribed group in Ihiala Community were said to have engaged the security operatives in a face off during the raid which led to death of 4 members.
Meanwhile, a statement by the Anambra State Command of the Nigerian Police Force made available to journalists in Anambra confirmed that the combined team of the Nigerian Police and the army were on the trail of members of the proscribed IPOB members in Ihiala local government area for inciting members of the group through civil unrest against government authority.
