The 299 paged book is written by Apostle Kenneth Gideon Aigberebholen Adodo, a prolific writer and researcher who specialises in digging into the cores of tradition and history of the Benin and other ethnic groups across the country.

On why he decided to write the book, Apostle kenneth Adodo said the decision was to explore the relationship between the Benin Kingdom, the Ife and Yoruba at large and also the tribe that migrated from Benin kingdom to form a nuclear tribe that make up the then Bendel State which stretched to Ijaws. Itshekiri amongst others.

He noted that the outcome of the investigation of the origin of the Benin and Ife with emphasis on their historical links, connection and controversies and again the book featured the historical links of some ancient Benin communities and deep seated untold historical revelations of the ancient Benin kingdom.

Apostle Adodo also noted that the publication is also geared towards reemphasizing the importance of some historical knowledge and examines the relationship between the Benin and the Yoruba.

On his interest in tradition and culture as an apostle, he pointed out, “being a Christian does not mean that we must shy away from tradition and culture of our land and people but we must avoid idolatry and sinful act. Can one really avoid tradition or culture?.Example when a bride price is paid, is it not tradition? When a corpse is buried six feet into the earth, is not tradition.? he questioned.

The book is also made up of the history of Evuobateru that was formerly called Evbuobagbeni Village in Ovia North-East Local Government Area of Edo State and the history of Unuame village by the Ovia River also in Ovia North-East local government area.

High point of the occasion was the official unveiling and launching of the book by the Ohen of Evbuobagbeni, Ohen Aimuavbenrha Otasowie Isibor assisted by the elders and people of the village.
